Community Life

Azalea Trails celebrates its residents with special activities, seminars, planned group excursions and more throughout the year that bring our community together. Our residents have formed a number of musical groups. Azalea Trails to Host Family Thanksgiving Meal

Azalea Trails Assisted Living Community will be hosting their annual Family Thanksgiving Meal on Thursday, November 21, at 5:00 p.m. Families are asked to bring either a dessert or a side dish. Azalea Trails Assisted Living to Host Alzheimer's Alliance Program

Luanne Harms, LMSW, Director of Client Services for the Alzheimer's Alliance of Smith County, will present, "How Do You Know," an informational program on dementia.
Scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m., this presentation will help to answer many questions, including:
Who can get this disease?
What do you know?
When is the right time?
How will it affect their every day lives?

Each month at Azalea Trails Senior Living, we honor the birthdays of all residents with a single birthday bash. This month, we celebrated with a delicious cake, fun songs, and great fellowship.

"Fly Me to the Moon Party'

Each month at Azalea Trails Senior Living, we have a themed party. This month we recognized the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. At the party, we celebrated with refreshments and listened to a Podcast of the original landing. Our Residents had a blast at this event!

Reminiscing with High School Friends

While the lady residents of Azalea Trails get manicures from several young ladies from a local high school, the men have a group session with the young men from the same school. Our residents and the 'younger generation' really enjoy comparing 'growing up' stories. There is a mutual appreciation for the challenges associated with growing up - no matter what generation we're from.

Pumpkin Painting with Friends

The residents of Azalea Trails Assisted Living community really enjoyed painting pumpkins with their friends from a local high school. Events such as this keep our residents involved in enjoyable activities and gives them an opportunity to reminisce with the younger generation. Both our residents and the students are blessed by interactions such as these.

Residents of our Azalea Trails Community had a sweet time decorating cookies for the Halloween season. Their favorite part of the activity was getting to eat their ''ghoul-ishly' good creations! 'Bone' Appetit!

Our October Crafts are Filled with Halloween Spirit!

October is an exciting month for crafts at Azalea Trails Assisted Living. Recently, four of our residents had a hauntingly good time painting creepy mansions. Only 'ghoulish guests' are welcome into these houses!

We're on a Roll Making October Crafts

Residents of Azalea Trails recently made toilet paper pumpkins to help them get into the festive fall spirit. Here, they proudly display their creations. An added benefit of this particular craft is that they can recycle it when the fall season is over!
