Chef Spotlight Alfonso Belman – The Wellington at North Richland Hills

The Wellington at North Richland Hills has a number of strengths that make it a wonderful place to live.  One such strength is the Food Service Director, Alfonso Belman.  Alfonso was born in Mexico and is one of 10 children; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.  He was raised in Mexico until he was 12 years old, at which time his parents decided to move the entire family to North Richland Hills, TX.  Alfonso is an award-winning chef who has given 20 years of dedicated and committed service to providing the best food to all he cooks for.  He has been the recipient of “Southwest Texas Hot Food Prep Person of the Year” as well as “Southwest Texas Grill Cook of the Year”.   He has worked in restaurant settings, cafeteria settings, as well as the senior industry.  Most recently, he was the Food Service Director for 8 years at The Whitley Place, another Capital Senior Living Community located in Keller, Texas.

Alfonso’s passion is to cook homemade food as well as cooking new recipes from different cultures all around the world.  What he likes most about his job is the personal satisfaction he feels when his residents are happy and satisfied with the food he prepares for them.  A resident favorite here at The Wellington at North Richland Hills is his homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu, which he prepares from scratch.   Alfonso’s motto in life is “Every new day is like a new challenge, almost like a new step up to reach my goal”.

Alfonso currently resides in North Richland Hills with his beautiful wife of 8 years.  Alfonso is greatly appreciated and adored by the residents, staff, his Executive Director and many others who are blessed with knowing him.
