Chef Spotlight Curt Holloway - The Woodlands of Columbus

Curt Holloway, Food Service Director at The Woodlands of Columbus, goes above and beyond to ensure that all residents have a wonderful dining experience and we are lucky to have him as part of our team.

Curt has been with The Woodlands of Columbus for nearly a decade now, but his start in the culinary world was unique in it of itself. While Curt was performing his duties in a previous position in another department, the lead chef did not show up for work. Curt took the lead and offered to step in and help. After serving his delicious spontaneous meal, he was quickly promoted to a full-time position within the kitchen. Since then, he has enjoyed coming up with creative ideas for events, resident family nights and enjoys fulfilling special menu requests. The residents even have favorite dishes that Curt makes for them, which include his famous meatloaf and BBQ ribs.

Not only does Curt strive to meet the needs of his residents at The Woodlands of Columbus, but he takes his passion for his career and shares it with others in the community. Curt has catered at weddings, birthday parties, special events, even by request for his own family.

Curt is a native of Compton, California and frequently returns home for visits where he shares his culinary talents – even winning first place in a ribs cooking contest. Looks like the residents were spot on in loving his BBQ ribs!

Curt believes in giving credit where credit is due when it comes to his previous mentors who have taught him the skills of the trade. “I truly enjoy my job and what I get to do each day. I have a great staff that I love working with and residents who always give me something to look forward to. I give a lot of credit to my Executive Director, Carol Ruff who has given me the opportunity to expand my skills here at The Woodlands.”
