Don Bitter - Summit Point

Chef Don Bitter has been with Summit Point 4 years this March and in that time has transformed Summit Point dining into a nightly restaurant experience. Offering all “Chef prepared” selections from Summit’s “scratch” kitchen, the residents dine as if it’s their own private club. Chef Don’s background began as a cooks’ apprentice at Blossom Music Center helping prepare meals for celebrities such as James Taylor, Jackson Brown and a who’s who list of entertainers. A graduate of The Ohio State University in Nutrition and Business, Chef Don has worked for over 40 years in hotels, restaurants, high-end CCRC’s; as well as, owning his own restaurant for over 12 years. Chef Don’s goal is to make sure the residents have an exceptional dining experience daily.

His favorite thing to prepare is a theme meal. The dining staff will work with the activity department to transform the dining room where you can imagine yourself in a faraway place eating the local cuisine. Any and all holidays are celebrated with huge buffets where our residents can invite friends and family members to enjoy the bounty of Summit Point.
