Scream for Ice Cream

Who doesn't enjoy a big bowl of ice cream? Every Thursday afternoon to end the week, residents gather for an ice cream social. The ice cream flavors vary from week to week, but butter pecan and vanilla are the favorites! Along with ice cream, the activity director entertains the residents while they enjoy their treat. One week may feature "Holy Humor" or "Comic Relief" while another may feature trivia or tongue twisters.

Bingo!

"It's a Bingo stampede!" That is the way to describe the residents and their love and enthusiasm for the tri-weekly bingo games. Twice a week, the residents line up to enter the dining room for their bingo experience. Bingo, by far, is the highest attended activity on the calendar. Won't you join us for a game of chance?

Pet Therapy

When Dr. Casey walks into a room, he brings a smile to everyone’s face. Dr. Casey is a 2-year-old certified pet therapy dog who visits Charlotte Square every Thursday afternoon. At 58 pounds and fluffy white hair, he is an easygoing, loving, golden doodle, a mix of poodle and golden retriever. Dr. Casey and his owner, Karen Hale, have been volunteering at Charlotte Square since August 2012. They both love their pet therapy visits. “It’s a blessing and a calling,” said Karen.

Young at Heart

Each month, Charlotte Square welcomes the after school program from Carmel Christian School. These students, ages 5-12, sing to the residents and present a biblical program. The residents particularly enjoy the one-on-one interaction with the children. These visits keep the residents “young at heart”.

Monthly Entertainment

Each month the residents rush to the main lobby to get a good seat to hear the monthly entertainer. From a ragtime piano player to a smooth crooner, residents are always captivated by the talented artist who performs and interacts with them each month.
