Community Life

Dogwood Trails celebrates its residents with special activities, seminars and more throughout the year that bring our community together. From morning exercise classes to Monday night movies, there are plenty of things for residents to do. Our residents also can get involved in bible studies, men’s and women’s breakfasts once a month and play bingo or dominos for enjoyment.  Dogwood Trails residents raise funds for the local volunteer fire department and take part in Paint Palestine Pink, Palestine’s Hot Pepper Festival and Dogwood Trails’ Festival, all sponsored by our community.  Residents, family members and friends can keep track of all of our daily, weekly and monthly happenings, find out how to get involved in our activities, see photos from past events and get the latest news from our community by checking here.

Daily Gratitude Calendar

If you get a chance to stop by the bulletin board the next time you are in the building, be sure and notice the Gratitude Calendar. We have something to be thankful the entire month of November, truly wanting this to be a month long season of Thankfulness.

"We Care~You Count" Campaign

In response to our resident's answers to our Menu Surveys, and discussions in our Monthly menu meetings, we have developed a new program to let our residents know that they are being heard. Our new "Waffle Wednesday", every second Wednesday of the month, and "Fruity Fridays" both are born out of the information we have gotten from them stating what they would like to see more of. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the fresh fruits and variety in the breakfast menu.

New Sitting Area

Friends, family and health Care visitors now have a special place to stop and sign in. We have utilized the area immediately inside the side entrance by Memory Care to create a cozy place to take a phone call, take notes from the visit, or just chill for a minute. You will find the current Activity Calendar for Memory care, logs for visiting health care guests, as well as current information and events. We think you'll enjoy this extra touch our Executive Director created for our visitors.

Elf on the Shelf

Elf on the Shelf

Meet Henry! Dogwood Trails Scout Elf that sits on a shelf, table or other parts of our facility to observe every ones behavior during the holiday season. It is to be believed that Henry flies back to the North Pole every night
to inform Santa Clause of his naughty and nice list picks. Henry then returns to our facility before everyone wakes up and settles in a new part of the facility creating a hide-and-seek game for our residents.
