Take a Roll of the Dice!

On August 23, we will travel to Toledo, Ohio to try out luck at the Hollywood Casino. Their is 125, 000 square feet of gaming tables with live dealers and over 2,000 slot machines to try. They are also known for their "Epic Buffet" and seniors pay just $9.99. Reserve your seat on the bus today!

Historic Paddle Boat Ride

Come join your friends on the lake! We will be riding the historic paddle board, The Dixie. We will leave at 11am, stop for lunch and return later that day before dinner. This fun afternoon will cost $7 per person. The board is walker and wheelchair accessible.

Depression in Seniors

Parkview Hospital will send two of their social workers to provide us with an educational workshop on Monday, August 14 beginning at 3:15pm. This event is open to our residents and their family members. The stigma attached to mental illness and psychiatric treatment is more powerful among seniors than other age groups. Come learn why it is so important to learn and identify all the symptoms of depression.

A presentation from the Little River Wetlands

The Little River Wetlands is a not for profit land trust founded in 1990 with the goal of restoring and preserving wetlands in the watershed of Little River, and headwater tributary of the Wabash River. Dana Claussen, will join us to do a presentation on butterflies. We will learn about their average lifespan and native butterflies to this area. We hope you can make this fun and educational presentation.

Transportation and mobility equipment

Residents, do you use a cane, walker, manual wheelchair or power wheelchair? Don't forget our bus is fully accessible to all mobility devices. If you need a ride to a doctor appointment or want to come on one of the activity department's outing we would love to have you join us!

Meet our new Medical Director

Dr. Andrew Offerle will serve Georgetowne Place as its new medical director. Dr. Offerle was born and raised in Fort Wayne and is the youngest of five children. He is a member of St. Charles parish and his parents live on our northeast side of town. He is proud to consider Fort Wayne home. Dr. Offerle is board certified in emergency medicine and recently obtained his MBA in healthcare management. He has been practicing medicine for 13 years. If you see Dr. Offerle in the community, welcome him with a friendly hello and smile.

Pool Time

It is almost that time of year when you can get outside for some additional exercise and sunshine poolside! This year the pool will once again be opening on Memorial Weekend. Aqua Fitness classes will being in June.
