Solar Eclipse

With all the excitement of the Solar Eclipse we decided to give the residents a chance to see it. We tuned in on the TV to watch and even had a few try out the different ways of seeing it in person. One way was by poking a hole in a sheet of paper and holding another in the other hand and underneath it. This caused a shadow that replicated the sky. We also got inventive and taped five pairs of sunglasses together. After testing it out first to make sure it would not hurt your eyes we had a couple residents use them to see it. Although we looked extra goofy it really did work! It was a fun experience and everyone enjoyed the fun.

Clark Gardens Trip

We recently went on a trip to the Clark Gardens in Mineral Wells. It was such a beautiful experience. The residents got to take a tour through the gardens on golf carts and learn about what different plants they have. We also learned about the history of the gardens and had a picnic lunch on one of the pavilions located in the heart of the garden on a pond. The residents really enjoyed getting out for awhile and seeing all the beautiful scenery. A few even had stories to share from their past as well on the drive, which is always nice to hear.
