Community Life

Rose Arbor & Wildflower Lodge celebrates residents with special activities, seminars and more throughout the year that bring our community together. Our daily life enrichment programs include everything from faith services and social hours to birthday parties. Join in on an exercise class or explore our woodworking shop. Ballet Class for Seniors!

We will have a professional ballet teacher here at Rose Arbor to teach a senior ballet class! This will be so much fun and great exercise! Mylou will teach the class the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on the 2nd floor. All are welcome, and no previous experience is needed.

Participating in the ballet class will:
•Improve balance and coordination
•Help meet personal health goals
•Promote physical and mental vitality

Guys & Dolls at Old Log Theatre

Set in a mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls tells the tale of one Nathan Detroit—a guy who needs a venue for his “permanently established floating craps game.” Nathan’s best venue falls through and he needs money to underwrite an alternative option. He turns to Sky Masterson, a high roller who will bet on anything if the stakes are high enough. Desperate for a sure thing, Nathan bets Sky he can’t get date with Sarah Brown, the earnest proprietor of the Save-a-Soul mission. Things don’t go as planned, and along the way you are treated to some of the most memorable Broadway tunes, including Luck be a Lady, Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat, Sue Me, A Bushel and a Peck.

Rewind the 50’s with Full Bloom!

It all happened in the 50’s! This was the decade of sock-hops, blue jeans, McDonalds and rock “n” roll. “I like Ike” was the slogan and there was a TV for every living room. Shopping centers, drive-in movies and drive in restaurants with car hops sprang up everywhere. The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy and Gunsmoke mesmerized audiences. In the last half of the decade Elvis Presley burst onto the scene along with other rock icons like Fats Domino, Bill Haley, and Buddy Holly. Rock “n” roll was here to stay! Get ready to visit Life in the 50’s with a presentation given by Full Bloom.

Have a Heart ~ All Things Valentine with Full Bloom!

February 14th is St. Valentine’s Day. The day is not just for lovers, all love life and considers themselves romantics at heart can appreciate the holiday. Do you know who were the first to use February 14th as a time to celebrate? Was there actually a St. Valentines? In the early 1900’s, why did the Chicago post office reject nearly 25,000 valentines? Most who affectionately sign “X’s” to valentine cards and letters are usually unaware that the custom goes back thousands of years. “When you care enough to send the very best” is the advertising slogan for what card company? You will surly find this program a full-filled look at St. Valentine’s Day. Let us entertain your heart and soul with Have A Heart, the history of the holiday presented by Full Bloom.

You don’t need a mat for laughter yoga. You don’t need an arsenal of jokes. You don’t even need a sense of humor! All you need is another person, eye contact and a willingness to fake it. Laughter yoga is a way to practice choosing joy over frustration. Who couldn’t use more practice with that? Please join us on Wednesday, February 7th at 1:30pm in our 3rd floor Great Room. Rose Arbor Visits The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

Rose Arbor residents visited the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum on Monday, October 16th, 2017. They could not have asked for a more gorgeous day! Rose Arbor Couple's 70th Anniversary Video goes VIRAL

Rose Arbor Residents, John and Evie, have been on Buzz Feed (an online news source) lately. One of their grand-daughters, Danni, did an interview with them for their 70th anniversary in 2012 (They will celebrate 75 years this October). Danni is a hobbyist videographer, and her grandparents are two of her favorite subjects - she also did a video of them rapping to "Baby Got Back" that went viral! We are so proud to say they live here at Rose Arbor and they really are one of the sweetest couples around. Check out the video by clicking the link below.
