Cardinal Newman Students Are Partnering Again with The Waterford

It is our pleasure to have seventh and eighth grade students visiting us every week from Cardinal Newman School. They visit with our residents and help out in many different areas; gardening, pet-walking, feeding birds, and even serving desserts. The young people and the "young at heart" also enjoy playing games. Balloon volleyball, corn hole, and horseshoes are a few of their favorites. This partnership is a marvelous way to bridge the generation gap.

Waterford Employee Gets Award for Fifteen Years of Service

Congratulations, Martha. C., for fifteen years at The Waterford at Columbia. Martha has faithfully served as our Director of Housekeeping for the past fifteen years. During our monthly residents meeting in July, Martha was surprised with an award from Capital Senior Living, our Corporate Office. She also enjoyed a very generous gift card from The Waterford, as well as many greeting cards. Afterwards, Martha shared her enormous and delicious chocolate cake with all residents and staff. Martha is not only a loyal employee, but she has a very kind and caring heart. Martha, we are blessed to have you here.

The Waterford at Columbia is the recipient of BB&T's Lighthouse Community Outreach Project

The backyard and patio area looks fantastic with new flowers, new ceiling fans, new hanging baskets and a patio that shines thanks to power-washing. On the inside, several closets were cleaned out and reorganized, and that was an enormous job, and it was very much appreciated. All of the bulletin boards were replaced and refreshed, and the inside looks better than ever, too. We are so grateful for the generosity and tireless efforts of this marvelous group of volunteers.
