The Longest Day Wine and Cheese Fundraiser

On Friday, June 21st, us here at The Waterford took part in a fundraiser for the Alzheimer Association called The Longest Day. The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. And it's the day the Alzheimer's Association calls on everyone to fight Alzheimer's disease by raising funds and awareness for care, support and research. We had a wine and cheese party for our residents and as an incentive to get donations we offered that anyone who donated $5.00 could throw a pie in the face of the Director of their choosing. Everyone in attendance had a blast and we raised a good amount of money. Also, as an incentive we made a contest between the 3 floors. The floor that raises the most money at the end of June will win an ice cream party!! We appreciate everyone that donated to help the fight against Alzheimer's!! Thank You!!

Adventures In Art

One of our favorite activities here at The Waterford is our Adventures in Art Class. On the first and third Friday of every month we have a volunteer,Eileen, who comes and teaches an art class for our residents. Before she retired she was the head of the art department for Terrell ISD. The classes are held on the second floor rotunda from 2:00pm- 4:00pm.

Girls Club Tea Party

On Saturday, May 4th, the girls club from Berry Middle School came and put on a tea party for our residents. They brought food, drinks, and fun party favors. After we ate the girls painted the residents nails and helped them put on the accessories they brought and had a mini fashion show with the residents walking down the "runway". We had a blast and appreciate the girls from Berry Middle School for taking the time to put it together.
