Community Life

The Wellington at Arapaho celebrates its residents with special activities, seminars and more throughout the year that bring our community together. Our knitting club makes blankets and caps for babies born at the county hospital. Residents also keep busy with happy hours, musical entertainment, resident council, history lecture series, book reviews, trivia and Vespers services. Residents, family members and friends can keep track of all of our daily, weekly and monthly happenings, find out how to get involved in our activities, see photos from past events and get the latest news from our community by checking here.

Laci, LVN with Texas Home Health, formally Senior Select will be here every Tuesday at 1:00pm for some great, fun and stimulating "Mental or Mind" Aerobics!

Not only is Laci a nurse but she is also a certified instructor and through her exercises you will... RECALL - REMEMBER - REMINISCE.

Bible Study Group

Please be our guest the First and Third Thursday evening of every month for Bible study at 6:30pm.

You can take part in group readings, singing hymns and discussions. It's a wonderful hour of coming together.

Join our residents for dinner and stay afterwards for our Bible Study group.

New to the Wellington, Norris Perry, Entertainer!

You are invited to be our guest on Friday, October 6 at 3:00pm for our special guest Norris Perry, Singer, Guitarist, Actor and Entertainer! He is new to the Wellington and our residents are very excited to hear this wonderful entertainer.

Join us at 3:00pm for his performance, stay for Happy Hour, (Full Open Bar) at 4:00pm and then stay for a delicious home cook meat at 5:00pm.

Norris Perry has been performing for 40 years since he was 6 years old. He is a professional Singer and DJ. His has entertained in Night Clubs, Restaurants, and Wine Bars; for Private Parties, Weddings, and Receptions; for New Business Openings, Street fests, and Block Parties; and for Senior Communities.

He has also sang the National Anthem and "God Bless America" for the Texas Rangers, for the last 7 seasons, Dallas Mavericks, Lone Star Park, Frisco Rough Riders, Allen Americans Hockey, Texas Revolution Football, and Texas Brahmas Hockey. As well as for the 2014 & 2015 Mrs.Texas Pageants.

His talents do not stop there. He is an actor, performing in numerous Theater productions, as well as a musician, playing a 6 and 12-string guitar. Norris primarily performs with the aid of recorded backup music (tracks), which allows him to sing a wider variety of songs.

With a music library of over 500 songs, he can entertain any audience with Country, Classic Hits, Standards, Big Band, Swing, Rock & Roll, Classic Rock, Rhythm & Blues and Disco.

Lev Kardonsky, Classical Violinist at the Wellington!

At the age of 6, Lev Kardonsky discovered a passion for violin which he later turned into a successful career.

Graduating from Lithuanian State Conservatory with a Master's Degree in violin, he began his career by appearing with The City of Riga State Theater of Musical Comedy, The Latvian National Opera, and The Riga Ballet Theater.

Since his arrival to the US, Mr. Kardonsky performed as a member of the Fort Worth Symphony and the Fort Worth Opera. He also appeared in concert and performed in some of the finest clubs around the world.

Mr. Kardonsky was praised by audiences worldwide and received numerous awards for his accomplishments, including the Bicentennial award.

Articles about his career and personal life appeared in Time, Newsweek, Texas Monthly, and Associate Press.

Lev is a regular and favorite of the residents. We always have a full house!

Art Stern, Pianist at the Wellington!

Join us on Friday, September 22 at 3:00pm for a special hour of classical music with Art Stern, Pianist.

Take your seat and sit back and enjoy this amazing classical concert. Once his fingers touch the keys, you will be an awe of this talented entertainer and it will feel like you are at Carnegie Hall.

He is a gifted pianist and he enjoys sharing his talents at retirement communities. Our residents feel very fortunate to have him perform at the Wellington and are always looking forward to his next engagement here.

Paul Anderson is back, by popular demand!

The Wellington was proud to have Paul Anderson, Bass-Baritone, Tenor and Entertainer back on Friday, September 15, at 3:00pm! He is an experienced vocalist with a wide-ranging performance background.

Not only does he sing, but he has also written, produced and performed a one-man show in which he portrayed important American historical characters and performed up and down the east coast of the United States.

Each year over the past decade, Paul has been invited to participate in a music parade in which he has sung numerous selections from the American songbook.

Paul was awarded a singing contract to sing with one of the most respected regional music festival orchestras in the Midwest.

Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Broadway show tunes, jazz standards - they're all there in a full hour of singing excellence.

Michelle Priest Singer

Michelle Priest is an entertainer that captured the public's eye as a lead vocalist for the Emerald City band of Dallas. She has performed for former President George W. Bush, The Dallas Maverick Franchise,

The Dallas Cowboys Franchise, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association and many more.

Establishing a successful solo career, Michelle became know as "The Voice of N2Effect", lending her vocals to radio and TV stations across the nation including Dallas' own, 106.1 Kiss FM and FXSW and DFW Sports Beat.

Enjoying solo success, Michelle has been a featured performer at the prestigious Venetian Hotel in Macao, China. She is one of the most sought after entertainers in the US and worldwide.

James Michael ~ Broadway Baritone

Please join us Friday, September 1st at The Wellington for our "Family Night", at 6:30pm. We cordially invite you for this one of a kind musical performance right off New York's famous musical theaters on Broadway!

James Michael is a celebrity in his own right! Performing on Broadway at a young age and singing along side with the likes of Howard Keel, John Raitt and Robert Goulet.

Working and performing with his idols as a young baritone, James played the rolls they made famous. He emulates the big baritone voices of his idols as well in his musical show.

Buck Criner Is back!

Be our guest for an enjoyable afternoon with Buck and Gloria Criner! The show starts at 3:00pm.

Buck Criner, a retired Firemen who is one of Dallas most sought out singer, and get ready to snap your fingers and move your feet to some of the great tunes of your favorite singers.

He will perform all the "Jazz" Hits that were born on "Bourbon St." in New Orleans, in celebration of "Fat Tuesday" and Mardi Gras! We will party with "Kings Cake", Purple, Gold and Green Beads and beautiful Masks!

Buck will also charm you with his renditions of all the great classics from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and more.

As he takes you down memory lane, you will be singing along in no time! He will also share interesting facts and musical trivia between melodies.

He is joined by his wife Gloria who accompanies him on the keyboard. They not only make beautiful music together, but they are a fabulous team. He is an excellent entertainer and as always we are excited to have him back.
