Tin Soldiers

I just became aware I have not added this picture to our website, so here goes. These Tin Soldiers are a sight to behold as you come through our front door entrance. Our residents, their families and friends, and visitors just marvel at how unique and tall the soldiers stand.

Piano music

We have a resident in our Memory Care that can really play the piano. A couple of staff members moved a piano to that area of the facility and she entertains the other residents with her music. Loretta plays by ear and it is amazing how many songs she can play.

Country Music

We had a return visit last Friday by our resident's favorite singer, Jerry Huffman. He was with a group of Country Western singers that sang professional in our surrounding area. Some of the songs he sang were; I Walk Alone, Take Me Home Country Road, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, Happy Trails, and many more. Actually, before he left our facility some of my residents were requesting him back.

National Wear Red Day

National Wear Red Day is a day in February when many people wear red to show their support for the awareness of heart disease. Our Assisted Living buildings will be wearing red for this event.

Monthly Exercise Challenge

Strong-Life Program promotes monthly walking activities for the residents in the North and South Buildings in the Saint Joseph, Mo. facilities. During the month of January it is all about "Charlie Brown" and his friends ice skating. Each resident receives their comic strip character in their own mail box. They return the ice skater to the ice skating ponds located in their own facility. This is fun activity to get our residents walking.
