Wine, cheese, and fellowship is in store. There will also be nonalcoholic refreshments. Why do we pair these two together? Wine goes with cheese. Meat sandwiches go with a pickle. Green tea goes with Asian food. ... Many of the world's most beloved food combinations pair an astringent food, which causes the mouth to pucker up, with a fatty food, which makes the mouth feel slippery. But most of all, it just tastes good.

What does Memorial Day mean to you? Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
Many Americans celebrate Armed Forces Day annually on the third Saturday of May. It is a day to pay tribute to men and women who serve the United States' armed forces. Armed Forces Day is also part of Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May. Join us as we pay tribute to the men and women who protect our country. There will be light refreshments served along with the unveiling of the Veteran's Memorial Wall.
