Mardi Gras Lunch

We are having lunch to celebrate Mardi Gras. Don't miss out on the King Cake. According to historians, Mardi Gras dates back thousands of years to pagan celebrations of spring and fertility, including the raucous Roman festivals of Saturnalia and Lupercalia. When Christianity arrived in Rome, religious leaders decided to incorporate these popular local traditions into the new faith. As a result, the excess and debauchery of the Mardi Gras season became a prelude to Lent, the 40 days of penance between Ash Wednesday and Easter

We are encouraging all of our remarkable staff to wear "red" on February 2nd for National Wear Red Day.

Chances are we all know someone affected by heart disease and stroke. In America, there are about 2200 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day, averaging one death every forty seconds. Some steps to help reduce the risk factors are to eat a healthy diet, maintain a healthy weight, exercise regularly, don't smoke, and to limit alcohol use.
