Show & Share

Throughout the years, we tend to collect and surround ourselves with things that have followed us through good times and bad, across continents and back. We cherish objects that represent memories, bring us comfort, and remind us of the life we live and the things we love.

Come to learn more about your neighbors and/or bring an award, memento, souvenir, hobby, collections, photo, or whatever else you want to show and share. It's a great conversation starter and a fun way to build connections with others.

Coffee & treats are provided.

Fitchburg Singers Presents Questions in Song

The Fitchburg Senior Center is proud to be the home and sponsor of a very special mixed vocal group—The Fitchburg Singers. Formerly The Fitchburg Eldersingers, this group of singing seniors chose to simplify their name to reflect that they are young at heart. Join them as they share their music and voices with us! The groups’ theme song counsels: “Don’t worry that it’s not good enough…just sing!” The Fitchburg Singers happily follow that advice and encourage you to as well.

Documentary: Art and Craft

Mark Landis is one of the most prolific art forgers of the modern era—and he isn’t in it for the money. In the last 30 years, he’s copied hundreds of pieces, from 15th century icons to works by Picasso and even Dr. Seuss, then donated them to museums across the country. When a tenacious registrar discovers the ruse, Landis must confront his legacy and a chorus of duped professionals intent on stopping him. But Landis is a diagnosed schizophrenic, driven since his teens to escape “the life of a mental patient,” and ending the con isn’t so simple. A cat-and-mouse caper told with humor and compassion, Art and Craft uncovers the universal in one man’s search for connection and respect. Originally premiered on PBS in September of 2015; 90 minutes long.

Heartland Farms Visit

Heartland Farms Sanctuary, which opened in 2010, is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless farm animals in Wisconsin and building connections between animals and vulnerable youth. It is one of Wisconsin’s only shelters devoted to the care and rehabilitation of pigs, goats, chickens, and other farm animals in need. Their mission is to provide care for farm animals in need, nurture people through human-animal bond, and foster respect and kindness toward animals and each other. Learn more about Heartland Farms Sanctuary and enjoy meeting a few of their visiting animals: A pot-belly pig named Percy and two hens named Brenda and Bailey!
