Community Life

The Waterford at Oakwood celebrates its residents with special activities, seminars and more throughout the year that bring our community together. Offsite outings to nearby Oakwood attractions are especially popular events. Bible studies, wellness lectures, support groups and seminars are among other highlights within our community. September is Healthy Aging Month

September is an annual observance month designed to focus national attention on the positive aspects of growing older. So, join everyone in our Activity Room on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 1pm as we discuss and provide inspirational and practical ideas for senior adults. You will learn to improve your physical, mental and social well-being. Let's use September as the motivation to take stock of where you've been and what you can do to stay healthy! Then try it and put it into action! September is the month to change and we'll help get you started! We'll have some fun ways to get going as we discuss things YOU can do to improve yourself..........and learn to age healthy! Hope to see you there!

Heart Health

Please join us for a healthy heart discussion with Dr. Heather Westmoreland on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 11am. Heather is a cardiologist and is the granddaughter of our resident, Annie Mae. We will be giving away heart pens, bookmarks and heart-shaped stress balls. Refreshments will be served.

Dog Days of Summer

Please join us for our annual Dog Days of Summer fling on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 10am. We will have pups of all shapes and sizes visiting for this event! The pups will enjoy frosty treats from our residents and will take home a treat filled "doggie bag". Our residents will enjoy paw shaped pops and bracelets.

Please join us for an informative and fun talk on the importance of hydration on Wednesday, July 24 at 4pm. John Hoffman with Pruitt Health will be our speaker. We will be serving samples of flavored water for everyone to enjoy.
