Community Life

The Woodlands of Columbus celebrates its residents with special activities, seminars and more throughout the year that bring our community together.  Intergenerational programming and family nights encourage residents to invite their loved ones to participate within the community. Our residents join with local senior center attendees for activities and take part in a number of seasonal activities including Columbus Clippers’ games, Buckeye Lake boat tours, Lynd’s Fruit Farm apple picking, picnics in the park and Christmas lights driving tours. We also offer a wide range of musical entertainment onsite. Residents, family members and friends can keep track of all of our daily, weekly and monthly happenings, find out how to get involved in our activities, see photos from past events and get the latest news from our community by checking here.

GIVING THANKS - THANKSGIVING DINNER

Thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. During these times of world and national unrest, let us all acknowledge the good fortunes we have been blessed with—family, friends, coworkers and a caring, nurturing environment. The staff at The Woodlands expresses our heartfelt thanks to our family members for your continued support. Our residents are the backbone of our home, and we are ever so thankful that you have chosen The Woodlands!

We will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with all the fixings on Nov. 23 from 11:30 to 1:00. Guests are welcome; however, reservations are required. Dinner is $7; child 5-12 is $4. Happy Turkey Day!

The Wounded Warrior Fundraiser

As you all know we have been raising funds for The Wounded Warrior Project from July to September. We have been selling candy bars, taking donations at Family Night and participating in Jeans on Friday all in good fun to raise money for this fantastic cause. We are so proud to say that we have raised over $600 to be donated! We thank each and every one of you no matter how big or small the contribution - you helped make a difference in a Veterans life! We appreciate your support as we try and give back to the community.

Baking for the homeless

We are happy to announce our participation in a new community volunteer service with Mifflin Presbyterian Church. They will come on the 3rd Monday of every month to bake items with our residents and these items will then be donated to the homeless shelter. This is a great way to do some baking and be involved in a wonderful service in assisting our community who are in need. Thank you Mifflin Presbyterian Church for allowing us to be a part of this great service!

Deficiency-Free!

We are extremely proud of the results from our recent annual State survey as "Deficiency-Free". This basically means that we have fulfilled all of the state regulations in the hiring and training process, resident admission, resident care and state fire requirements. This is a significant accomplishment! We take great pride in providing excellent care, service and a one-of-a-kind lifestyle here at The Woodlands and are so happy to see it reflected in our annual survey. Just another reason why The Woodlands is a wonderful place to call home.

Special Thank You To ...

Kroger's on East Broad Street in Blacklick! We are extending a special THANK YOU to them again this year as they filled our home with over 300 Valentine's Day balloons. Every year they accept and encourage donations from all their patrons to donate the Valentine Mylar Balloons during the season of love. Our lobby, dining room and hallways were filled to the brim. Crystal, the floral manager plays a special part in making this happen each year - so a special thank you to her!
