Community Life

The Woodlands of Hamilton celebrates its residents with special activities, seminars and more throughout the year that bring our community together. Our residents have plenty to do on a weekly basis, including shopping trips and activity outings. We invite live entertainers to the community on a weekly basis as well. Our monthly family nights are a big hit. Residents, family members and friends can keep track of all of our daily, weekly and monthly happenings, find out how to get involved in our activities, see photos from past events and get the latest news from our community by checking here.

(Resident Council) - January 21st

A resident council is an independent, organized group of persons living in a Assisted Living community who meet on a regular basis to discuss concerns, develop suggestions, and plan activities.
Why have a resident council?
The lives of Assisted Living community residents are heavily controlled by laws, rules, and policies set by the government and the Assisted Living community. Compromises in life-styles become necessary due to health problems and the close quarters within which residents live. These compromises and controls can make Assisted Living community residents feel like their opinions and preferences do not matter. Many Assisted Living community residents are not content to give up control over their lives. They want an active part in life and the chance to influence decisions which affect them. A resident council gives them that chance.

Butler County Historical Society (Wednesday the 16th)

BCHS visits the Woodlands of Hamilton to tell stories about Historical events. They find topics and talk mainly about the events that accrued during that time. Our residents really enjoy hearing about different Historical places and learning about the backgrounds in which accrued.

The Butler County Historical Society maintains the Benninghofen House as a museum, with house and furnishings representing the lifestyle of a wealthy family during the Victorian Era and Age of Industry. BCHS manages an adjacent archive that offers extensive original and secondary materials relating to regional history. The archives are available to the public with the assistance of a BCHS staff member. Artifacts relating to local, regional and national history are in the care of BCHS and exhibited on many subjects. BCHS offers public programs featuring knowledgeable speakers. The Butler County Historical Society is open for tours and research on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. Special tours and research opportunities are available upon request.
