The Longest Day

Residents got down and dirty on June 21, The Longest Day, to plant flowers in the pots they had embellished with paints in May. Many folks reminisced about the gardening they had done in the past and loved digging in the dirt once again to give the painted pots another touch of color with the flowers. They were thrilled to put the finishing touches on the pots which were then sold to family and friends as a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association in conjunction with The Longest Day. The Woodlands of Middletown exceeded its goal for The Longest Day thanks to the efforts of our wonderful residents!

Flower Pot Painting

Spring is in the air and thoughts are of the color that visually explodes as plants are blooming everywhere one looks. Residents at the Woodlands will take part in adding to the beauty of spring by painting flower pots on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. They will use paints and markers and their creativity to personalize the pots. Then on June 21, residents will plant various flowers in the pots as their part in The Longest Day, an event sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association. Families and friends will be provided sponsorship opportunities so they may take home these treasured flower pots created by their loved ones. All proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
