It’s always fun to talk about our Chef here at Crescent Point. This culinary maestro has served six heads of state and many celebrities. His work portfolio contains extensive world experience spanning three continents and includes the countries of Switzerland, China, Canada, and the U.K. Bernhard has served as Executive Chef in Five Star hotels, restaurants, and retirement facilities. He has catered many events for fashion tycoons like Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Versace. He was even present at the Beijing Summer Olympics and catered to an International clientele.
Chef Bernhard grew up in the tiny seven house village of Munchs, just outside of Nuremberg, Germany. This quiet farming community was idyllic in many ways. But, as happens to many youth growing up in small communities, the quiet pastoral lifestyle turned out to be a strong catalyst towards a life that was anything but quiet. He set strong goals for himself and completed his three year apprenticeship in Nuremberg, soon after starting his career in Switzerland.
When you see Bernhard visiting with the residents, he always has a big smile on his face. When asked about favorite dishes or recipes, he’ll answer in his charming German accent that some of the best meals are simple and made with few ingredients. In regards to how he masters the many aspects of Executive Chef, he’ll tell you that it’s like solving a puzzle.
