Cesar started cooking in Mexico professionally 25 years ago. He has been cooking in the senior living industry for the past 19 years and started working with Capital Senior Living in 2011 when they acquired the Walnut Creek community. Cesar left for a brief time in October 2012, but returned in March 2013 as the Dining Services Director, after finding that he missed the Walnut Creek residents and staff as well as the family environment of a smaller Assisted Living and Memory Care community. He has been a fixture in our kitchen ever since providing culinary delights for our residents and assisting in training other Dining Services Directors and cooks.
His specialty is Mexican food such as enchiladas and homemade tortilla chips, but he is also just as famous for his specialty sauces, fried chicken, pork chops and meatloaf dishes and is well known for making breakfast burritos for many marketing events. Cesar also enjoys cooking a large Thanksgiving meal each Thanksgiving holiday for over 250 residents, staff and guests of Walnut Creek.
Cesar, along with his cooking, is loved not only by his residents, but also by staff and families. In fact, many search the menu to determine what day they are coming for lunch when Cesar is cooking.
