The Waterford at Baytown is a great place to work and live, and Food Service Director/Chef Scott Steinbeck takes great pride in making sure it not only stays that way, but continues to improve. "I strive for excellence each day, and ask that of my staff as well; our residents deserve nothing less than our very best." Chef Scott has been involved in the food services and hospitality industry in varying capacities for most of his life, starting with his very first job at KFC at the young age of 15. In the 30 years that have followed, he has honed both his culinary and customer service skills with a wide variety of experiences. He has done everything from caterings for celebrities performing locally, to weddings, anniversary parties, special events and business functions. He has been a General Manager at numerous restaurants including KFC and Shoney's, among others.
Chef Scott's two driving passions are providing a great dining experience to his residents, as well as putting a smile on their faces as often as possible. A natural jokester with an infectious laugh, he enjoys nothing more than brightening his residents' day with a joke, a smile or just a chat. Scott has also been known to dress up in various silly characters to bring laughter throughout the building. He even will go as far as personally preparing and delivering meals to residents who may not be able to make it to the dining room. "I genuinely care for the well-being of each and every person that lives here at the Waterford at Baytown, and view them as family. I truly love my job and enjoy going to work every day, not many people are lucky enough to say that."
