Ames Farmer's Market Trip

Do you like to pick out your own fresh fruits and vegetables? How about fresh baked sweets such as cookies and pies? Then the farmer's market is the place for you! We will be taking Resident's and guests to the Ames Farmer's market at 9:00am on Saturday September 15th! If you would like to go please reserve a seat on our bus with our Activities Director Eden Hinrichs! We will meet in the main lobby to board the bus at approximately 8:45am.

National Assisted Living Week!

September 9th through the 15th is National Assisted Living Week. Stop out to the Waterford and join in on activities and treats to help us celebrate! Help us "Capture the Moment" for the 2018 year and show appreciation to all those that make Assisted Living possible.

Labor Day Ice Cream Social

On Monday September 3rd join us on the front patio at 2PM for some sweet treats. In honor of Labor Day we will be enjoying different ice cream treats and cool refreshments.

The Waterford at Ames will be hosting an open house on August 23rd from 2pm-6pm. Come enjoy some free entertainment, refreshments and a petting zoo! We would love you take you on a personal tour of our community and show you everything we have to offer!

State Fair comes to Waterford!

Love the State Fair? But don't love the heat, crowds or finding a parking spot? Look no further! Join us the week of August 13th to enjoy all the fun the fair has to offer without all the hassle! We will be hosting a multitude of events including: Bean bag toss, Rolling Pin Toss, Hog Calling contest, Rubber Chicken launch and a Cookie Contest! Stop on out at The Waterford at Ames to learn more about our fair week! See you then!

The Longest Day Painting Event

On June 21st The Waterford at Ames staff and Resident's participated in a painting with a twist class to raise awareness and funds in the fight against Alzheimer's! We painted many different pictures including watermelon, sunflowers and 4th of July flags! The Waterford was able to raise just over $1000 towards our goal! We would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of those who participated and helped us raise these funds!

Alzheimer’s Association Fundraiser: The Longest Day

On June 21, 2018, the longest day of the year and summer solstice, dozens of people from our community will come together to show their love for those affected by Alzheimer's disease. You can be one of them. Join us Thursday, June 21 at 6:30pm for a fun-filled evening of painting with a twist to raise money and awareness to fight Alzheimer’s.

Throughout May and June, we’ll be accepting donations on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association to support research, caregivers and those affected by Alzheimer’s. To join the fight, donate online at the link below. We look forward to seeing you on June 21!

New Director of Sales & Marketing!

Welcome, Logan Harrington Director of Sales & Marketing!

On April 12th, Logan Harrington started as our new Director of Sales & Marketing. Logan brings a vast variety of healthcare knowledge & leadership to our community. While specializing in Alzheimer’s & dementia care, hospice & palliative care, home care, long-term care, management, environmental services, customer service, and sales & marketing.

Logan grew up in Boone, Iowa where he still lives. Logan has a teacup morkie Oakley, cats Cassie & Mia, horses Lacie & Dixie. He also has a 22-month-old niece Adaline, and 4-month-old nephew Hudson. Logan enjoys spending time with family & friends, camping, riding horses, DIY projects, and shopping.

When you see Logan around the community, please don’t hesitate to say hi and introduce yourself! Welcome to the community Logan!

The Safety Committee is comprised of a group of employees who value the safety and well-being of their peers/residents and the continuous success of the organization. It's an effective way to improve safety behavior and performance in the workplace and to encourage workers to support the organization's safety program. Participation in the Safety Committee represents a commitment on your part in time and effort to:
• Be your organization’s eyes and ears
• Raise safety awareness
• Gain respect of co-workers and peers
• Analyze and/or solve problems
• Follow-up and follow-through consistently

Iowa State University visited a Resident!

On Valentines Day Resident Betty had a special visitor! Betty has been a life long Iowa State University fan and was excited to see Cy the Cardinal stop in!
