Halloween Artists!

When we heard our chef, Aaron, had extra sugar cookies for the taking, we grabbed a tray and went to work decorating! Our residents unleashed their artistic talents, spreading frosting and drawing Halloween pictures on about two dozen cookies. The best part was sharing the yummy results with appreciative diners at supper. Next up, caramel apple slices!

It's just another day for Jack K.

Our Hero!

Never a dull moment for our Maintenance Director, Jack K. He donned a "bee suit" to remove a threatening yellow jacket nest on our grounds. Notice he's smiling...was this BEFORE or AFTER the dirty deed was done? Just teasing! We admire his know-how and resourcefulness. Thank you, Jack!

Let's Go Vote!

For election day, we took a group of residents to go vote! It's so good to see these smiling faces with their "I voted" sticker. We are so proud of our residents for their political activism!

Crochet and Knitting Club

We recently started a crochet and knitting club! The first couple of meetings we spent our time sharing patterns, ideas, and discussed our future goals and endeavors that we would like to see the club achieve. We have decided to meet on a monthly basis in order to give us all time to complete a project or two, and then bring our completed projects to each meeting to share with our friends! The most exciting thing about this club is that we are going to use our yarn skills in order to give back to the community; our goal is to make hats, booties, and afghans to donate to Newborns in Need around Christmas time. We can't wait to see where this club goes, and what new ideas we can come up with!

Hillcrest High School Drama

Drama department teacher Mark Gideon brought his wonderful drama students to the Waterford to entertain our residents on Tuesday afternoon. Residents enjoyed their play, "Free To Be You and Me In A Family." Those students did a wonderful job and we can't wait to have them back again!
